| Amano TruTime® Work force Management Suite |
| |
| Guest Care Management, LLC (GCM) operates four nursing care and two renal facilities in the greater
Shreveport, LA area. They pride themselves on consistently high levels of nursing care and well-maintained facilities.
Their inability to account for all man-power hours in 1999 - including overtime costs - was seriously draining capital
resources need to maintain these standards.
"Our old paper time card system had to go," says E.A. "Buddy" Forrest, facility administrator of Guest Care at Spring Lake.
GCM could not correlate actual manpower hours - nursing, dietary, maintenance, nor administrative personnel - to budgeted hours
until pay periods ended. The lack of fiscal data cost the facility thousands of dollars each month. Working with Tony's Time
Equipment of Shreveport, they installed the TruTime® Work Force Management Suite and HandPunch® 3000 biometric data collection
terminal. |
| |
| Fast Pay back |
| "The impact," says Forrest, "was immediate. TruTime captures real-time employee data - time in
and out, breaks, holidays, vacations, sick leaves, labor analytics such as overtime, and so forth." |
| |
| Monitoring employee hour reports throughout the pay period has returned control to management.
New reports indicate employees were averaging 9.5 hours per day prior to installation of the TruTime system. Since implementation,
average hours have dropped about 15 percent to 8.25 hours per day - meeting budget requirements. |
| |
Detailed reports shown by Mr. Forrest indicate GCM has realized substantial annual savings as a
direct result of better employee time management. |
| |
| Automation adds other significant advantages |
Compliance with union and state wage and pay scales has always been difficult in the nursing
care industry. Changes in regulations and pay scales are magnified using error-prone manual time card systems. TruTime eliminates
those errors, maintaining consistently accurate records for compliance - virtually at the touch of a button. |
| |
| "The biometric data terminal has significantly improved accuracy," says Mr. Forrest. "We get accurate
punch times and it's impossible for employees to punch in for one another. We're more capable of considering accurate tardiness
and absenteeism." |
| |
 |
| |
| Hour's allocation and Medicare |
An important and specific industry concern is hour's allocation. Accurate records of total hours spent by workers in
various units and/or positions is vital. This is especially true for time spent working with Medicare-reimbursed patients.
Inappropriate and inaccurate records submitted for reimbursement from Medicare can be significantly compromised or delayed. |
| |
"We didn't have a good way to allocate hours using the traditional time clock," says Forrest.
"Now we assign hours using TruTime in about half the time it used to take with far better accuracy." |
